Welcome to the Butler Trust

The Butler Trust is an independent charity set up to celebrate, support and share good practice in UK correctional settings.

We work closely with the correctional services to achieve our aims through:

• Our Annual Award Scheme for staff and volunteers; and

• Our Development and Dissemination work with award winners.

More about The Butler Trust

The Butler Trust Annual Awards recognise outstanding dedication, skill and creativity on the part of those working in correctional settings across the UK.

Awards and Commendations are given for work, over a sustained period, which contributes to the effective care of offenders; promotes the health and well-being of staff; or provides wider benefits to the public at large.

More about our Award Scheme

One of the things that separates The Butler Trust from other award schemes is that our work does not stop with the awards themselves.

Beyond the glitz and celebration of the Awards Ceremony we work with Award Winners and Commendees, together with the correctional services themselves, to develop and disseminate their work more widely.
